After shielding his eyes a moment while they adjusted, he swept back his hair and looked about eagerly. His stolen right eye picked up burning streaks of new colour he had never seen in his earlier visits; oranges and pinks strong enough to scour the retina, a hundred shades of blue in one single shadow.
